Culturally Cats is rather interesting to me, and I've suspected for a while that a lot of therians are therians in part because of the sort of cultural transmission you speak of. I know I was raised around and emotionally close to many cats, and dogs are one of the most common pets while wolves are one of the most common theriotypes.

It kind of makes perfect sense that a lot of the behavioral traits we associate with therianthropy could be transmitted from a housepet to a child, especially an introverted one.
