RSS Feed on the website is having a weird one right now for unknown reasons, but website update!

• Added 'Simply Plural Review and Personal Thoughts' essay (cleaned up version of the essay posed here)
• Added 'The Dragonheart Collective's Testimony on the KFF Phenomenon' essay (to clarify otherkin/fictionkin history/discourse we were there for)
• Added 'What To Do When Your Source Upsets You' essay (as a self help document for fictionkin about what is says on the tin, a personal version will go up at some point eventually). This got moved up in the WIP schedule after having a talk with lb_lee  that motivated us to finish this one much faster than it was originally going to come out, so thanks for the motivation! This probably would have taken till next summer otherwise lol.
• Added a few links in the professional plural papers section for non-professional but non-community articles of note.
• Slightly updated/changed some individual about pages.

Lifewise:

• Going to be checking in with the family for ~2 weeks starting on the 6th, so might take some time to reply to messages here.
• Finished the second Earthsea book (decent), and the 14th Wings of Fire book (very good).
• Have been doing a lot of cleaning. Those windows havent been washed in a few years, so thats better now.
• Still slowly slogging through SMTV

Fandomwise:

• Worked on some fanfic WIPS a bit.
• Read some fanfics, including being in the process of rereading a very excellent one for MDZS (Serrated by InkSplatterM and MrMissMrsRandom), very tasty poly fixit fic with plural flavor, savoring it like fine wine. Mind the warnings and all, also spoils the whole novel so there is that.

Thank you so much for that KFF essay, we saw people talking about it on fictionkind and absolutely felt like a granny at a software convention going, "what is a Google?" This gives us a lot of context and understanding!

The upsetting source essay is a boon. I have more thoughts but they are not in wordbrain yet!

Yeah, its something that people often forget to explain because they figure everyone already knows, so we figured it might be helpful to write because *no one* has a Sourced essay that actually covers what it really is down to the origins and why all the people up to their eyeballs in the outsourced fictional identity community have A Lot Of Feelings about the situation, particularly those who Were There.
We got tired of copy-pasting the same 10+ paragraphs every time someone asked what people meant by 'kff' and some people had asked for a post they could link to about it, so we made one.

The upsetting source essay something we saw a LOT of need for, people just... dont know how to know when their source is hurting them or how to cope with that. Its been floating in our to-do list for about a year, so we are glad its finally out in the wild.

We've found ourselves having to do similar explaining for things like the Memory Wars, the FMSF, and so on! Memory is short, online memory shorter! We really appreciate the explanation.

We wonder if an insourced version might be worth us making. Certainly there are artists who dive deeply into extremely personal work, only to realize they are not ready for that level of exposure, and while we've heard plenty of horror stories about ne'er-do-wells hacking someone's mythos as a means of hacking THEM, I've never seen someone discuss the nuts and bolts of jow this works, or how to recognize the dangers.

Weve also seen insourced folks around who have issues with their source or have had exposure cause them harm, so it probably would be a good thing to make! We dont really have quite enough experience or accumulated observations to be writing specifically that ourselves(its why we stuck to mostly outsourced issues), so we dont have plans to do so ourselves. If yall want to do that would probably be something people might find useful?
