Heyo!

Been awhile, whoops! Keep being busy or hanging out elsewhere and then just not updating, alas! Gotta be more consistent.

So life updates; we are trying harder to get on our bad sleep. We think its some flavor of sleep apnea, considering the waking up a lot in the night, sometimes out of breath, and the morning sore throat&dry mouth and headache, and the fatigue and the family history of sleep apnea, and our default breathing being really shallow. Doctor wanted to rule out thyroid with a blood test and that was predictably negative so made another appointment about it. Hopefully this time we get a sleep study!

Website updates; New links have been added and two new essays! Was gonna go for three but lost some steam. Someday we will reach the end of our link hoard that we still need to sort and be finally caught up, but today is not that day haha.

Essay 1: The Scent Thing - An essay about how two of us have our nonhuman identities intersect regarding specific behaviors around scent.
Essay 2: A Formal Critique of Consciousness Labels - an essay about 'consciousness labels' in the plural community and why they are not so great as a mandatory framework.


Considering journal updates:
Weve been wanting to be more active on dreamwidth- but our main issue is that by splitting our blog topics between fandom AND personal-plural-nonhuman stuff we have created a space that if we are more active many people will see lots of posts they didnt follow for in one sector or the other and fandom activity may cause people to be rude about the plural&nonhuman thing. So we are considering putting the fandom stuff (that we barely post here anyway) on another account and manage two personal accounts and the plural media review mirror account.
We feel like this change might actually get us to post more than once every 4 months or more lol.

• Got driver's license finally! Its been years on a permit but no longer do we have to suffer doing a paper test every 2 years! Still hate driving and am uncomfortable driving alone, but legally now we can in an emergency.
• Been playing pokemon white 2 instead of being productive. Oops!
• Did a bunch of work on the website, and will probably be adding some articles soon.

Cool stuff read recently:

Fanfic:
Pity of The World by appending_fic - Pokemon anime fanfic AU where Team Rocket didn't join team rocket and travel with Ash. Pretty interesting and quite long! The first in the series is done, but theres apparently more planned.

Is that my fucking brother by Alienea - Pokemon Legends Arceus AU where Ingo's cell phone still works somewhat and Akari uses it to post on twitter from the past. This gains a real plot over time and has some fantastic headcanons and plot elements. Its also very silly and mem-referencing so its important to be able to suspend disbelief here. Fic is fully finished.

Glacial Retreat by Fai_Gensou - Bleach fanfic where Rukia goes back in time to fix things. Neat stuff, good Bleach fic. Because its bleach fic, theres the canon plurality also. Unfinished and hasnt updated since 2020 but worth reading if that interests you for sure!


Original Work:
Inhuman webcomic - Pretty good! Sci-fi comic that's been around a very long time, and the main story just recently finished up. Hand-drawn pages all the way through, so thats neat. Read it years ago and got caught up fully, then got caught up recently now. Its held up fairly well but be aware that the grace with which a main character's schizophrenia is handled is a bit wobbly. Its got a lot of content warnings but pretty neat. Its story is a bunch of resistance fighters steal some unexpected cargo (the cargo is a person), and things get sticky from there. Lots of interesting aliens running around and a bunch of complicated mentally ill people struggling in a messy world. Its for sure on the more adult end of the ratings.

Slightly Damned - Very good! Another long-time updating narrative comic. Very cute! Get into some fairly mature subject matter like depression and toxic family dynamics while being a fluffy fantasy romp. Furries everywhere. Still updating semi-frequently after all these years and not seeing an end in sight.

Caelum Sky - Cool modern fantasy comic with demons and angels, features an amnesiac main character waking up as a demon and being very confused. Still updating and theres lots of mystery to unravel yet! Very interesting world and neat main character design.

Skin Deep - Cool modern fantasy comic about a girl who discovers she is not quite as human as she believed. Very neat worldbuilding! Currently on break after finishing up the most recent arc, but still ongoing.

Out of Placers - Very neat fantasy webcomic with interesting original species and a slowly unfolding plot. Its about a guy who gets transformed into a female yinglet, and proceeds to have A Time Of It with no known way back to human shape. Theres a lot of gender feelings around the genderbending, it deals with some rough concepts, and its got some lovely worldbuilding. Mind the content warning that there is an onscreen attempted rape plus the fallout of that across the more recent updates. Still updating and quite good. This one is for sure on the more adult end though.

To do:

• More website work.
• Polish up and finish some WIPs of various stuff (both nonfandom and fandom related)
• Finish! SMTV! Dangit!
• Make a dentist appointment already

After a solid month of being away (much longer than planned), we are back home and at a real computer.
Was sick with the flu and had to stay put for a bit, which is why it went longer than planned.
Now to get back on the writing horse.

We also ended up discovering a new headmate while stuck recovering, who is a subsystem itself and seems to have stronger memory and communication barriers and seems to be connected to our miscellaneous memory trouble as Kero(the new headmate- short for Keroberos as it is a three headed dog) knows it 'guards' memories without knowing what they are or choosing what is kept from the rest of us.
We intended to wait to go headmate hunting again till a less busy time as we had Suspicions beforehand, but Kero found us first. As there is still the whole memory mystery left(why does Kero keep them when it doesnt choose to do so, isnt out front in any way, and doesnt know what they are and cannot retrieve them, only knowing that it is 'guarding' them), the theory that there is an additional 'layer' of memory fragments or another subsystem working under the surface still holds water, as does one of Kero's subsystem having this knowledge to the exclusion of anyone else. For now we will leave the mystery be unless it smacks us in the face, as our current priority is improving Kero's communication skills and life stuff.

- Update website
- Work on this years inky paws zine submission
- Work on the several WIP documents we have going on
- Do some cleaning of the house now that we are back
- Finish SMTV so we can review it

Last day of NaNo, which we set a goal of 6k for because we didnt want to work too hard, and after tallying everything written this month (which still needs to be edited mostly), we have a bit over 10k words! Nice! Better than we thought we'd do.
We did mostly prompts from Pluralprompts on tumblr plus some other essay things. When we have the original mini stories of the bunch edited up nice, we will make them into a little book for free on the website, though we may want to make a few more first before we release them all together.
Really helped us feel in the mood to write fanfic again, so maybe more of that in the future idk.

• Currently playing SMTV, that will be the next thing for the plural media blog its just slow going because Actually Playing it and not watching a cutscene movie and running x_x  Its VERY fun though. Good vibes.
• Still working on a driving license hhhh
• Maybe this time is the trick and will be more active here.

boy oh boy! One last semester left of college!
Also been very busy so not much content has been made really. Did some work on the webbed site, did some essaying, etc, but still working on most of the WIPs, reddit backlog, etc.
Trying to figure out how the fancy custom access lists work. Will probably get around to a pinned post eventually.

- Migrated to firefox finally, its better in a lot of ways but annoying auto google translate is gone- gotta look for a widget for that

- Still working on formatting that backlog of reddit posts into things that dont need the context of what they were replying to

Updates:
- Trying to bang out that last prompt for the bingo, its coming, should probably be done by the deadline
- Been trying to work on the plurals in media blog, but slow going because school and current major deadlined writing project. Promise updates are coming eventually, other stuff just has to come first for now.
- Other writing projects are off and on opened and a sentence is typed in.
- College semester has stated up again
- Cat is still a little nightmare (affectionate)
- Webbed site is gaining more links and such, so thats cool.

Blog updates & plans:
- Gonna probably actually use this a little more personally, I think, and just lock it behind the access list if its Too Personal. Only posting when I have content makes updates go some fuckin slow.
- Gonna probably start migrating my good reddit/twitter/etc ramblings more so they are saved somewhere with Tagging

Other news:
- Have kitten. Little hellion I love her she is made of chaos and too clever for her own good. Walks good on a leash and purrs a lot. She bites everything and everyone getting her to not bite is Hell she recognizes no authority and is far too clever because she knows what is a Good behavior she gets praise for and does it right after she does a Bad Thing. Very cute tho.
- More work on the neocities has happened. Good.
- Read a bunch of fanfic, have been writing a bunch of fanfic. Hopefully will be done before the seasonofkink due date.
- On nonhuman national park forum and its good. You alterhuman somehow? Join the fun. Super friendly and chill compared to a lot of therian/otherkin forums, moderated enough to avoid trolls.
